Date Night: Ferry Ride to San Francisco

04.18.15

What a fun idea to ride the ferry from Jack London Square to San Francisco for date night! Free parking. No driving. No stress. Just beautiful view of the bay and the exhilarating feeling of fresh wind hitting our face. The BF and I sat on the deck and enjoyed watching  the sailboats, cargo ships and sea gulls.  It was fun to sail under the Bay Bridge. The view was magnificent as we were approaching the Ferry Building and as the breathtaking San Francisco skyline was coming into view.  We walked around the Ferry Building, did some food shopping and ate at Gotts Roadside. While waiting to board the ferry back to Oakland, the seagulls started circling above our heads and we ran for cover – laughing and joking about the Alfred Hitchcock movie “Birds.” We will definitely ride the ferry next time we go to Pier 39/41. What a fun date night and a lovely Saturday!

Good to know:

  • Free validated parking at Jack London Square.
  • Use a Clipper card to avoid the long ticket line on the ferry, and to save $2 each way. (You will miss half of the ride waiting to buy a ticket if you do not use a Clipper card.)
  • Bathroom on the ferry.
  • Wine and beer are available for purchase.
  • Enjoy!
  • More fun things to do at Jack London Square such a bowling, walking on pier, dining and shopping.

The 2015 Must Do List: Ride the ferry with the BF. It was really quite romantic. 🙂

It was a warm and gorgeous day in San Francisco today!

Correction: I originally mistakenly blogged this as the Bank of America Building.  It is the Transamerica Building. I was telling my guy about my lovely lunch  in the FiDi and being able to take an “almost perfect” picture of  the Transamerica Building with my sunglasses on – and he was talking about his days at the BofA building. I was doing this while blogging. I absent-mindedly typed in BofA! Duh!  Once I caught my mistake the next day and corrected it, the picture has already been re-blogged so many times! 😦
